Who runs Sprint Mechanics

Sprint Mechanics is a Swift Performance platform. It is owned and run by Swift Performance Pty Ltd, a Brisbane company that designs and makes sports measurement equipment, including the DynaSled.

We built Sprint Mechanics to share good sprint coaching. We also built it because coaches who train with sleds are the people most likely to want a DynaSled. You should know both.

How Dean Benton is paid

Dean Benton hosts the fireside interviews, writes the letter and lends his coaching voice to Sprint Mechanics. Swift does not pay Dean a fee or a salary. Dean Benton is paid a commission by Swift Performance when a DynaSled is leased using his code.

Swift also lends Dean a DynaSled and Swift timing gates to use in his coaching and in Sprint Mechanics content.

Dean's own coaching business is his own. Swift takes no share of it.

Who writes what

Dean writes the letter. Swift's team edits it, and produces the interviews, tips and pages you read and watch here. Anything published in Dean's name has been approved by Dean first. If a letter goes out under the Sprint Mechanics name instead of Dean's, it is because Dean had not yet approved it.

Interview guests speak for themselves. Guests are not paid to appear.

When we talk about DynaSled

DynaSled is a friction-resistance sled that records force and speed during a sprint. It is offered on lease. When an interview, tip or letter mentions DynaSled, it is a Swift product being discussed on a Swift platform, and that page will say so.

DynaSled is not a medical device. Coaches and allied health professionals use it in training and in return to sport work. It shows what the athlete did. It does not diagnose and it does not recommend. What to do with the numbers is the decision of the coach or practitioner.

We do not claim that DynaSled or any Swift product prevents or treats injury. Where a coach describes what he has seen in his own athletes, that is his opinion from his own experience.

Where the ideas come from

Sled profiling methods come out of published sports science, much of it from researchers at Auckland University of Technology. Where our content relies on published research, or teaches from it, we name the research.
