1. Who we are

Sprint Mechanics (sprintmechanics.com) is run by Swift Performance Pty Ltd, ACN 071 744 020, ABN 42 071 744 020, of 34 Bishop Street, Kelvin Grove QLD 4059, Australia ("Swift", "we", "us"). Swift also makes and leases sports measurement equipment, including the DynaSled. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through Sprint Mechanics.

2. What we collect

  • When you sign up: your name, email address, role (for example coach, strength and conditioning, physio or athlete), your sport, whether you asked for the letter, and the date and time you signed up.
  • When you use the site: technical information such as the pages visited, the link that brought you here, your device and browser type, and your approximate location from your IP address. Our signup form sends your details to our customer system, Odoo. It does not set cookies. Videos on the site are played through YouTube, which sets its own cookies when you play one.
  • When you email us or appear in an interview: what you send us and, for interview guests, the recording and the details in your signed consent form.

We do not ask for, and do not want, health information about you or your athletes through this site.

3. Why we collect it

  • To send you the Sprint Mechanics letter, if you asked for it.
  • To understand who reads Sprint Mechanics and to improve it.
  • To contact you about Swift's DynaSled and related products and services, where you have agreed to that or would reasonably expect it given what you signed up for. You can opt out at any time (section 6).
  • To record that you came to Swift through Sprint Mechanics. If you later lease a DynaSled using Dean Benton's code, we use that record to work out the commission Swift pays him (see our Disclosure page).
  • To measure which Sprint Mechanics pages lead to enquiries on swiftperformance.com.
  • To comply with the law.

4. Where it is kept

Signup details are stored in Odoo, the customer system Swift uses. The site is hosted by Vercel and its content is stored with Sanity. Videos are hosted by YouTube. Our email is handled by Google. These providers store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

  • with the service providers above, so they can run the service for us;
  • within Swift, so our team can answer DynaSled enquiries;
  • with our marketing agency, as a list of Sprint Mechanics subscribers that it must not contact (a suppression list). It may not use the list for anything else;
  • with our professional advisers where needed, and where the law requires.

Dean Benton does not have access to the subscriber list. If you lease a DynaSled using his code, Dean's commission statement will show that lease.

6. Emails and opting out

We send the letter only if you asked for it when you signed up. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and we act on it within five business days. You can also email hello@sprintmechanics.com to stop any contact from Swift.

7. Cookies

YouTube sets cookies when you play a video. You can block or delete cookies in your browser. The site will still work.

8. Under 18

Sprint Mechanics is written for coaches and other adults. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must sign up for you, using their own name and email address. We do not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has signed up themselves, email us and we will delete the record.

We do not publish a photo or video in which a person under 18 can be identified unless a parent or guardian has given written permission.

9. Interview guests and athlete data

Guests sign a separate consent before recording. We do not publish an identifiable athlete's performance data unless that athlete, or a parent or guardian for anyone under 18, has given written consent, or the data has been anonymised.

10. Readers outside Australia

Sprint Mechanics is run from Australia under Australian law. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to marketing, by emailing hello@sprintmechanics.com.

11. Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@sprintmechanics.com. If you have a complaint about how we handled your information, contact us first and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page with its date.
